Data Device Policy
Quality Waste is committed to securely recycling all client data by following a detailed and rigorous process:
- Upon arrival at our facility, each HDD and data device is carefully removed and logged into our inventory system, as outlined in our service agreement. For services that include inventory tracking, this log will capture essential details such as the manufacturer, model, and serial number of each device.
- The data devices are then transported to our dedicated secure shredding area, where they are prepared for the shredding process.
- In the secure shredding area, devices are organised systematically and readied for shredding.
- Each device is shredded into pieces no larger than 38mm to ensure thorough destruction.
- The shredded materials are then processed and recycled in their raw form, minimising environmental impact.
- Additionally, tapes, discs, and cards are subjected to the same shredding process to guarantee complete data destruction.
Alternatively, if the customer opts for data erasure, the following process is followed:
- The data devices are sent through a comprehensive data erase cycle designed to thoroughly wipe all data.
- Once the erase cycle is complete, the devices are subject to a verification process to confirm that all data has been securely removed.
- The devices are then prepared for recycling and reuse.
This ensures that regardless of the chosen method, client data is handled with the highest level of security and care.
