Liquid Collection and Containment: The extracted perfume liquids are collected in secure containers, such as drums or Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), to prevent leaks or spills. This is crucial since perfume contains alcohol and other volatile compounds.
Alcohol Recovery and Distillation: The perfume liquids often contain high levels of ethanol and other alcohols, which can be recovered through a distillation process at our external waste recovery partner site. This recovered alcohol can be repurposed for industrial uses, such as cleaning agents or fuel additives.
Wastewater Treatment: The remaining non-recyclable liquid components are treated in a specialised wastewater treatment facility to neutralise any harmful chemicals, preventing environmental contamination.
