Comprehensive Chemical Disposal Solutions for Safe and Compliant Laboratory Management
Laboratories often accumulate a variety of chemical substances over time, some of which may become redundant or unsafe due to prolonged storage. Aging containers—whether plastic, metal, or cardboard—can deteriorate, leading to brittleness, corrosion, or disintegration, which increases the risks of leaks or exposure. Additionally, regulatory changes may reclassify certain chemicals, meaning substances once considered safe may now be deemed hazardous or even toxic, requiring updated handling and disposal methods.
At Quality Waste, we specialise in the safe and efficient disposal of laboratory chemicals. Our expert team can help you identify, categorise, and safely manage your chemical inventory. We provide detailed hazard assessments, assist with proper segregation, and supply compliant packaging materials either in advance or at the point of collection. For unlabeled or improperly stored materials, we offer professional analysis to accurately identify unknown substances, ensuring they are handled and disposed of safely and in line with current regulations.
We pride ourselves on delivering a seamless service, from inventory preparation to secure transportation and final disposal at licensed facilities. Whether you’re clearing out obsolete stock, managing hazardous waste, or need ongoing waste management support, Quality Waste is dedicated to providing reliable, sustainable, and fully compliant chemical disposal solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most effective way to obtain a quote?
To provide an accurate quote for chemical disposal, we require a detailed breakdown of the materials, including the types of chemicals, their specific contents, and the sizes or volumes of each. This information helps ensure we comply with all safety and regulatory requirements and allows us to prepare the necessary equipment and resources for proper handling and disposal.
How are they recycled?
At Quality Waste, we specialise in recycling lab chemicals through a comprehensive and safe process. We neutralise acids and bases to transform them into less hazardous salts for responsible disposal. Our team distills solvents like acetone to purify and reuse them efficiently. We recrystallise salts for repurposing in various applications, and we handle oxidizers and reducing agents by recycling or treating them for safe disposal. Indicators are reformulated when possible, while degraded ones are replaced. We recover reagents and ensure hazardous materials are disposed of properly. Biochemicals may be purified for reuse or biodegraded. Toxic chemicals are treated with specialised methods, and we effectively break down or recover organic and inorganic substances, all while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations throughout.
Our products are distributed across the country at numerous locations, and it would be ideal for them to be collected?
If this is the case, it’s not an issue. Our team is happy to provide a quote for collections from any location. We operate nationwide, 7 days a week, and can efficiently collect without any hassle.
Can we place everything on a pallet or in a suitible container for collection?
Mixing lab chemicals in one container without proper knowledge can lead to dangerous and unpredictable reactions, such as the release of toxic gases, explosions, the formation of corrosive or hazardous compounds, or even fires, posing serious risks to health, safety, and the environment.
What if we don't know what the chemicals are because they are unidentifiable?
This isn’t a problem; we offer specialised chemical analysis and can send a team member to your site to collect a sample for analysis in our lab.
What happens on collection?
Upon collection, our driver will be equipped with the required specialised PPE to ensure the safe handling and loading of all chemicals. A small fee will be shown in your quote for the containers needed to properly separate the waste, unless it has already been separated in accordance with environmental regulations we are legally required to use UN approved containers. There are no extra fees for packing, and all our containers are provided at our purchase cost, with no added charges.
